intermediate steps of the final mosaic generation are saved as video frames.

up to ~500.000 images of tesserae were used.
how are the mosaics technically created?
typically a set of 100.000 tesserae was used.The entire image was processed in small, randomly selected ‘regions of interest’ covering the entire image. Each of these regions was then compared to all tesserae and the best matching tesserae were selected.
